Anger Matters

This course is designed to increase your understanding of anger, how you get yourself into that place and how to get yourself out!

Learning Outcomes


By the end of this course participants will:
  • Understand the physical and emotional impacts of anger
  • Be more aware of yourself and the impact of your anger on those around you
  • Gain personal insights and have more control over how to manage feeling angry
  • Feel more sympathetic and compassionate towards yourself and others

  • Gain a deeper understanding of discrimination and its impact on marginalised communities

    This course is designed for those who are interested in facilitating groups or further developing their groupwork skills and confidence.

    By the end of this course participants will:
  • Understand the importance of preparation & planning groups
  • Explore the concept of ‘beginnings’, ‘middles’ and 'endings’, when facilitating groups
  • Outline the key stages of group development (Tuckman)
  • Understand Kolb’s ‘Adult Learning Cycle’ it's relevance to working with groups
  • Increase confidence when dealing with conflict in groups and improve groupwork skills

    This course is designed to improve confidence in service delivery to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities and to identify strategies that develop a more inclusive workplace

    By the end of this course participants will:
  • Have gained a deeper understanding of homophobia and its impact on LGBT communities
  • Explore how homophobia affects people’s lives including their mental, physical, health and wellbeing
  • Learn about diversity within the LGBT community
  • Gain an overview of recent legislation relating to ending discrimination on the grounds Sexual Orientation
  • Identify strategies that improve service delivery for LGBT communities and foster a more inclusive workplace environment

    This course is designed to examine the challenges and barriers to working effectively with people living with HIV disease, exploring confidentiality, legal implications and improving professional competence in workplace settings.

    By the end of this course participants will:
  • Increase awareness, knowledge about HIV disease, including infection control in the workplace
  • Learn about transmission, prevention, and HIV's effects on the immune system
  • Explore current treatment options, including problems of ill health faced by people with living HIV
  • Gain knowledge and understanding about the impact of HIV stigma
